Verona Airport Departures

Verona Airport departures take place from terminal T1, the older of the two terminal buildings. Destinations for domestic air travel include Palermo and Olbia, Rome-Fiumicino, Cagliari and Naples. International flight routes to Munich and Frankfurt, Southampton and London-Gatwick, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Vienna, Barcelona, Moscow and Krakow, Amsterdam and Dublin open up the rest of Europe to travellers from the Verona and neighbouring regions.

Further afield there are holiday destinations like Sharm-el-Sheik in Egypt to tempt air passengers from this part of Italy to try out a different sunny climate for a change. Well-known budget airlines like Vueling and Wizz Air, Germanwings, EasyJet and Air Berlin, Monarch and Flybe offer affordable flight routes to a large number of European cities. Flagship carries like Aer Lingus and Air France, Alitalia and LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa and British Airways provide additional flight routes to Verona Airport departures.

Passengers are provided with regular bus services from the city to the airport via the Aerobuses that run every 20 minutes from outside the main train station, which is located a 20 minute out of the historic city centre. These services start at 6.10 am and finish at 11.10 pm, charging EUR 6.00 for a single ticket. The main bus terminal is located just opposite the train station. It is also possible to catch a long-distance service from South Tyrol and the Italian Dolomites directly to the airport as well as boarding direct coach services from Lake Garda, situated approximately 10 km out of Verona, to Verona Villafranca Airport.

Anyone travelling from other parts of the Verona region or from Venice, Milan or Bologna by train should contact the main information website for Italian railways at, where the cheapest and fastest train connections to and from Verona railway station can be found and tickets can be booked. The airport does not have its own train station.

Verona Villafranca Airport is easy to reach via motorways A4 and A22. Motorists coming from Brescia, a 75 km or 50 minute drive, should use the Sommacampagna exit and then follow sign-posting to the airport. Motorists coming from Bolzano, Trento, Mantova or Vicenza should take the Verona Nord exit and then follow the sign-posting to the airport.

From Bergamo it takes around 70 minutes to cover the 116 km to the airport; departures at Verona Villafranca Airport starting out from Modena, which is around 105 km distance away, will also take around 70 minutes for their journey.

Passengers from Trento will take around one hour to cover the 98 km distance to the airport in Verona. From Milan it will take roughly one hour and forty minutes to travel the 140 km distance. Nearby Montova, a 48 km distance from Verona, can be reached in just half an hour. From Venice it will take around 90 minutes to cover the 120 km distance by hire car. There are several large parking lots available at the airport and it is possible to calculate the parking fees and check availability online before travelling to the airport.

The taxi rank is located just outside the T2 building, where arrivals take place. There are three operators with licences to work the city to airport route and it is possible to book in advance, where prices can often be negotiated, if a longer distance has to be covered. The taxi fare from Verona hotels in the city centre to the airport will cost between EUR 15.00 and EUR 25.00 and the trip will take around 15 minutes. Authorised operators are Unione Raio Taxi (tel +39 045 532 666), Taxi & Autoblu (tel +39 045 858 1403) and Radiotaxi Catullo (tel +39 045 222 3525).

Families travelling with small children will find a dedicated play area in the departure zone and toilets with changing tables for their use. There are also bathrooms designed for small travellers. Gift shops, fashion and accessories outlets and various small cafes and restaurants allow passengers to pleasantly while away the time before their flight.

Thanks to a large number of car rental companies offering car hire fleets from Verona Airport it is possible to arrive in Verona, explore the region and other parts of Italy and then hand back the rental vehicle to suppliers like Avis, Auto Europa, Easycar, Europcar, Italy by Car, Hertz, Maggiore, Sixt and Easy Terra. Their rental stations are located in the arrivals hall of T2, but upon collecting the rental car and documents, customers will be told where to return the hired vehicle to at the end of their stay.
