Verona Airport Arrivals

Verona Villafranca Airport or Valerio Catullo Airport in Italy, is located a mere 12 km distance of Verona, a beautiful historic cities well worth visiting for a longer break than just a weekend.

Verona Airport services 4 million inhabitants of the neighbouring provinces of Bolzano and Brescia, Mantua and Rovigo, Vicenza, Trento and naturally the province of Verona itself. While budget airlines Ryanair flies to nearby Brescia Airport, which is located just 40 km from Verona, international air carriers like Air Berlin, Vueling, Wizz Air, Monarch and EasyJet provide affordable air travel into the region. Other international carriers offer European city destinations with London, Munich, Amsterdam and Barcelona.

Verona Airport arrivals have easy city access via regular Aerobus services, which leave the airport at 20 minute intervals for Verona railway station, from where travellers can board either long-distance or regional trains, carry on with city buses or catch coaches from the coach terminal just opposite the railway station. Trentitalia.com provides information on all train connections in the region. The Aerobus ticket for a one-way ticket costs around EUR 6.00 per person.

It is possible to catch coach services from the bus terminal that travel to Lake Garda. Tickets should be purchased from the ticket machines or ticket offices rather than on board of the bus, as this is typically more expensive. Every ticket must be validated via the small machine that is at the front of the bus or passengers risk a fine. This is also true for train stations, where every platform has a yellow validating machine.

Arrivals at Verona Villafranca Airport who prefer to travel by private, door-to-door service taxi or shuttle service, should head for the exit of the arrivals terminal T2, where the taxi rank can be found. Three official taxi operators have their fleets ready and waiting at the taxi rank, so there should never be occasion to wait for long. It costs between EUR 15.00 to EUR 25.00 for a one-way taxi journey into the city centre, depending on time of day. The journey takes approximately 15 minutes.

Families travelling with children will find a dedicated play area in the arrivals area as well as toilets with changing tables and bathrooms designed for little travellers. Cafes and restaurants serving Italian style meals and international cuisine can be found throughout both terminals, both the in the general public accessible areas and near the departure lounge.

ATMs and full banking services are provided via Banca Populare di Verona in the arrivals terminal and foreign exchange transactions are also offered via the ForexChange desk. An information stand can be found at the departure terminal T1 in the check-in hall.

At least ten different car hire providers offer their services, but is also possible to hire a car and chauffeur from an airport authority approved source by telephoning on tel +39 348 0046265. Car hire desks in the arrivals hall include Avis, Auto Europa, Easycar, Europcar, Italy by Car, Hertz, Maggiore, Sixt and Easy Terra.

Located at the foot of the Venetian hills, Verona is actually quite close to Lake Garda, a favourite holiday destination for European and domestic travellers. As one of Europe’s most beautiful cities, Verona has a wealth of stunning architecture and art collections to offer. The Arena de Verona, a great Roman amphitheatre ranks as one of the city’s top ten attractions together with the Archaeological Museum. Arena de Verona became the largest operatic stage in the world in 1913, when grand operas like Aida where being performed here. Today, going to the opera in this enormous and amazingly well-preserved theatre with world-class acoustics is the dream of every opera fan.
